Brighton & Hove Golf Club

Brighton & Hove

Established in 1887, Brighton & Hove Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Sussex.

This superb 9 hole downland-links course with 18 tees offers all golfers and visitors a warm welcome. Set within the South Downs National Park, the course is a great test of golf and offers magnificent views over the South Downs, the sea and the City of Brighton and Hove. The chalky soil and the maturity of the greens and fairways, continually worked and developed by our wonderful team of greenkeepers, ensure that the course always plays beautifully, whatever the time of year.

We are committed to preserving and promoting the development and diversity of our wild flora and fauna and i n August 2023 our status as a Sussex Local Wildlife Site (LWS) was reconfirmed. Click here for a link to our Flora and Fauna webpage.

The Course

A 137-year-old course in magnificent condition

Nine holes and 18 tees: you’re guaranteed a different experience on the front and back 9s. Men play from the white tees on the front 9 and black tees on the back 9, while women play from the reds on the front and blues on the back.

The first five holes follow the top of Round Hill with beautiful views over the surrounding South Downs National Park, down to the sea and the city of Brighton and Hove. No matter whether Lady Luck has handed you a sunny, grey or blustery day, it’s an amazing place to spend some quality time hitting the little white ball.
